Blues with a Southern touch - Highly Recommended!!!

Anyone who ever witnessed Eric Steckel playing live (you should!), knows that the stage IS his HOME. Intense, almost trancelike, energetic performances that are all about music, HIS MUSIC, in which beautiful and soulful guitar playing reflects every nuance of his emotions.

Following Eric for several years now, this great new studio album is one step up again in his still very young life and career. As with his previous albums, apart from a few fine covers, most of the songs are originals with strong compositions and lyrics; good singing too!

Blues orientated music with a Southern touch seems to be the style Eric is most comfortable with at this point in his musical development, and who could object to that? But like all really great musicians, he won’t let himself be restricted to a defined genre or idiom. Especially the lovely “Tuscany” illustrates this clearly. Martin Taylor, Tommy Emmanuel, beware! (John C. Bel)
