Blues Blasters 1984 Live From The Open Road

Genre: Blues
Rate: 320 kbps VBR / 44100
Time: 00:39:34
Size: 90,49 MB

United States

Rare live album featuring Savoy Brown guitarist Kim Simmonds on side 2's,two tracks. Future (80's incarnation) Savoy Brown members Gary Bordonaro (bass,ex The Rods) and fine guitarist in his own rite Billy Thompson appear too. Harp player Speedo Jones guests on three tracks also. (SonicBones)

Led by harpman/vocalist Speedo Jones and a cast of characters that reads like a New York City 'blues who', the Blues Blasters have somehow remained strangers to vinyl, until now.

On the occasion of Speedo's 30th birthday, the Blues Blasters assembled for a gig at Trax and, along with special guests Kim Simmonds and Delmar Evans, decided to give Speedo a real party blast-off. The five songs featured on this LP are but a fraction of more than three hours 'worth of bluesin' that went down this night.

Psycho Ward and Everybody Say They Love Me (But Nobody Love Me At All That Much), both Speedo Jones' originals feature his plaintive vocals, while Lucille gives Delmar Evans a chance to stretch out his throat. Kim Simmonds is heard on Side 2, and check out his slide work on The Breeze as well as his guitar on the classic Louisiana Blues! The Blues Blasters provide solid backing throughout, making this night one for the books in the annals of 'City Blues'.

01 - Psycho Ward 04:41

02 - Everybody Say They Love Me (But Nobody Love Me At All That Much) 10:51

03 - Lucille 04:55

04 - The Breeze 10:07

05 - Louisiana Blues 09:00
