This guy can wail. He wails, but makes every note count. Messin' With the Kid is one of my favorite blues CDs, and now Scott Holt is on my list of favorite guitarists.

Not only is he a good guitarist, but he's a good singer too. Some great cuts on this CD are Messin with the Kid, How Do We Sleep, Lets Straighten it Out, and Your Memory Won't Let me Be. The other songs are good as well, be these are the best.

How Do We Sleep has clever lyrics and a funky rhythm to it. These guys can do so much with 3 chords. However, not only is Scott a great musician, but so is the rest of the band. He has a great, great bass player, and his drummer is most excellent. The pianist is pretty good too, but not as good as the bass player or the drummer.

Lets Straighten it Out has one of the best guitar solos on the album, along with the song Messin with the Kid. For all the guitar heads out there, on Messin With the Kid he gets super high harmonics, in the beginning of his solo and at the end. Very cool. (NadiaYHIC)
