Shane Pacey – Guitar, Vocals
Les Karski – Guitar, Vocals

Ace Follington – Drums

A terrific debut album from one of Australia's best and most enduring blues based bands. Formed by singer guitarist Shane Pacey and bassist Al Britton, the Cigars have had any number of line ups over the years, but this one, with Ace Follington on drums and Les Karski on guitar and vocals was one of their strongest. The album features some great blues and soul classics including Magic Sam's "Every Night About This Time", Etta James' "Come to Mama" Denise La Salle's "Someone Else is Steppin' In" and Solomon Burke's "Cry to Me". Also some fine compositions from Pacey including "Ghost Train" and "I Can't Sleep"

Year after year the Cigars have proved themselves to be a superior live act than most of the US and English blues bands that have played at Down Under Blues Festivals. The debut album provides plenty of incite into why this is so. (DTM)
