Album Notes

We are Charlie & The Welfare and come from the south of Holland. C&TW forms a group of four passionate musicians who all have gained a lot of experience within national and foreign bands.

Our own characteristics and combinations of rock, Rhythm & blues, country and soul are all combined in our first cd, titled cross the Lines.

On it are ten splendid numbers stand all by the hand of Hans Vermeeren (Charlie), the founder and guitarist singer song writer of the band. That the band gets their influence from men such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Hiatt and John Fogerty is well heard in some numbers.

The guitar work and the singing of Charlie combined with Hammond sound of Frankie, the tight bass plucking of Laurens combined with the rhythmic drums of Roel creates contagious sound.
