I was at this show. The Shah was great. I love the way he develops lyrics as he goes along. Pure blues. The place was jumpin. Jack DeKeyser was the perfect foil on guitar. Nice people to hang with. Have not heard new release production yet, so I can't speak to that, but the show was great! (blues boy)

John Moreland seems to finally be getting some attention as the incredible singer-songwriter he is. But his first records showed more of his rock-punk roots and Earthbound Blues captures him in transition. There's straight-ahead rock, soul influences, and a heaping taste of the roots music to come. Moreland does it all with his apparently innate grace and power. Perhaps one day Moreland will once again lead a flat-out rock 'n roll band. You wouldn't find me complaining. But, whatever he does, he's the real deal and absolutely worth your attention. (jmhouse)

Every now and again something special comes through the letter box and this CD is one of those special things. I have to admit I had never heard of the Geoff Everett Band before, perhaps you haven’t either, but I really hope that is rectified by you ASAP.

Right from the first bent chord from Mr Everett’s telecaster, the music, bumps and grinds and swings and sways pretty much like the Adult Show it is.

The CD is a nice mix of covers and self-penned songs, the latter group including the cracking ‘Professor Honey Juice’ and the wonderful ‘Swine Fever Blues’.

The covers come from Muddy and Son House (or RJ if you will) but don't expect them to sound anything like the originals.

In short a terrific outing by a band that deserves a MUCH larger audience. (Blues In The South Magazine)

This is a well produced disc with a sharp rhythm section accented by horns on almost every track and sweet backup vocals from the ladies that contrast nicely with Blues Boy's gravelly voice. His vocals are one of the highlights of the album, he often sounds remarkably like B.B. King.

The lyrics are on the humorous side, and the opening track "I'm gonna marry my mother-in-law" is quite racy. I enjoyed the variety of styles included, ranging from blues to funk to R&B. All are well executed. My favorite track is "I've been shacking" which has a fat groove, lots of energy and is catchy as hell. (Dr. James)

Recorded live at the Record Plant (thus the name) in 1975 by the Wire Fire band, an edition of SB not usually considered one of the best, this band nevertheless rocks with fervor and jams with a passion so intense, that the result is one of the finest live albums of Kim and Co's forty years in the business. How could this be?? Well, let's start with excellent sound quality, notably lacking from most other SB live albums; it doesn't hurt that The Record Plant is a famous recording studio noted for excellent acoustics. Next, a solid bottom from bassist Andy Rae and drummer Tommy Farnell. Then two, not one, killer soloists: Founder/guitarist/guru Kim Simmonds (he of the fabulous chops!) and the gifted keyboardist and songwriter Paul Raymond. Most of the songs are jams, each about 5-9 minutes long (just long enough for a nice, juicy solo; not long enough to be BORING), with an excellent mix of time-honored SB classics ("Tell Mama," "All I Can Do," and an amazingly good "Hellbound Train") and newer material ("Hero to Zero," and one of the albums true highlights, "Born Into Pain", featuring a mesmerizing riff from Paul Raymond!) Through it all, Simmonds and Raymond repeatedly goad each other to new heights; each of these masters made some of their finest music together. Neither sing as well as Chris Youlden or Lonesome Dave, but both manage enough passion to deliver the goods. In any case, search and search again for this overlooked gem, and be sure to plant it in your collection right away!! (chris meesey Food Czar)

Dynamite Daze 2011 Scarecrows On Rampage

The Dynamite Daze Horror Show meets The Blues Brothers Quentin Tarantino & George A. Romero.

The Fantastic Boogaloo Kings hieß.
