The Kingsnakes, from Syracuse, NY, were one of the frontrunners of the 80's blues revival in the northeast. Their style could best be described as "down and dirty blues" with awesome blues harp, a rock-steady rhythm section, and some of the best blues guitar you'll ever hear. The band went through a few personnel changes over the years, and "disbanded" in the early nineties, but the mainstays and foundation of the band were (and probably still are) : Pete Mc Mahon (vocals, blues harp), Terry Mulhauser (guitar), and Mark Tiffault(drums).Mc Mahon is one of the best blues harp players IN THE COUNTRY (John Lee Hooker said Mc Mahon was one of his favorite harp players and had him sit in with his band when the 'Snakes used to open for him). The 'Snakes were always better live, but this CD and "Snakes Alive" come close to capturing the energy and pure blues of a live Kingsnakes show. (http://www.amazon.com)
