Tramline 1968 Somewhere Down The Line

Genre: Blues
Rate: 286 kbps VBR / 44100 from lossless source!
Time: 00:39:56
Size: 77,85 MB

United Kingdom

This is the 1st album by the excellent but little known and short-lived British Blues-Rock band Tramline, which included the extraordinary guitarist Mick Moody, who would later become famous as member of such bands as Juicy Lucy, Snafu and Whitesnake. The other band members were vocalist John McCoy, bassist Terry Sidgwick and drummer Terry Popple. The band, in contrast to most other Blues-Rock outfits at the time, played mainly original material, which was quite excellent. This little gem was completely lost in the vaults for many years. A classic! (Jazzis)

The new CD titled "All Night Long" by Big Joe and the Dynaflows on the Severn label is Excellent Swingin' Rhythm & Blues! Finger-Snappin'and Toe-Tappin' from start to finish, the band flat out Swings!

Joe Maher's vocals are deep into late 40's early 50's sound, and lead guitar player Ivan Appelrouth cooks ala T.Bone (Walker) and (Duke) Robillard throughout the CD.

Sax legend Joe Stanley sets in on three tracks. It is a Solid upper-cut of late night, smokey bar-styled Rhythm & Blues. It's Swingin' Blues and it shucks and jives! It's what I like! (J. Matthews)

Hiram Bullock 1986 From All Sides

Genre: Jazz
Rate: 268 kbps VBR / 44100 from lossless source!
Time: 00:41:23
Size: 79,44 MB

United States

A good album, and my first introduction to Hiram Bullock's solo works. A combination of funk, jazz, and rock swirled together with Hiram's unmistakable guitar tone, this album kicks off with "Window Shoppin'" - cool funk with an infectious guitar melody (a theme that runs strong through this upbeat album)- I dig this song. Although I've never been a big fan of his vocals, his rendition of "Funky Broadway" is slick. Other notables include "Cactus" and "Until I Do". Definitely a must have for any fan of Hiram, not quite the acrobatics of the Jaco Pastorius Trio Live in NY stuff, but I know I can't do without it in my CD collection. (BDW)

Gary Hoey Announces Release Of Dust & Bones On July 29, 2016

The ferocious guitarist fuses his blues and rock influences in eleven original songs that celebrate Johnny Winter, Led Zeppelin, Robert Johnson, and Robin Trower with special guest appearance by Lita Ford on "Coming Home".

Gary Hoey will release his Provogue / Mascot Label Group debut DUST & BONES on July 29. Looking towards his 20th album release Hoey shares, "This is where I belong—playing this ferocious blend of blues and rock music. My last album, Deja Blues, proved to myself that I could play authentic blues, and now that I feel more at home there, I felt it was time to mix my favorite guitar styles into something seamless, organic, and powerful.”

Released through Mascot Label Group, Dust & Bones showcases Hoey’s Fender Stratocaster-driven fury alongside open-D-tuned resonator guitars plugged into half-stacks. The massive sonic attack was essential for paying sincere and appropriate homage to some of Hoey’s influences, such as Johnny Winter (“Steamroller”), Robin Trower (“This Time Tomorrow”), and Brian Setzer (“Who’s Your Daddy”), as well as a thrill-a-minute mash up of Robert Johnson meets Led Zeppelin (“Boxcar Blues”). There’s also a classic power ballad (“Coming Home”) where Lita Ford sings a duet with Hoey.

“This is the biggest-sounding album I’ve done in years,” says Hoey. “From the guitars to the vocals to the rhythm section—everything was designed to produce a huge impact. I’m just so proud of this record.”

For the Dust & Bones tracks, Hoey went with a power-trio configuration, rocking hard with drummer Matt Scurfield and bassist AJ Pappas. The other selections on the 11-song CD are the first single, “Dust & Bones,” as well as “Born to Love You,” “Ghost of Yesterday,” “Back Against the Wall,” “Blind Faith,” and “Soul Surfer.” Guitar Player Magazine's Editor in Chief Michael Molenda offers, "Gary Hoey’s awesome command of styles, tones, and techniques drives so many different moods on Dust & Bones that you’ll feel as if he transports you across the musical universe and beyond. Buckle up!"

Confirmed appearances include:

8/04 Los Angeles, CA Rock n Roll Fantasy Camp - Vol. 2
8/19 New Hope, PA Havana
8/20 Teaneck, NJ Mexicali Live
8/21 Westford, MA Blues N Brews Festival

He may not be a household name but Blues Boy Willie is a modern-day Blues singer who is true to the Old School in every way. Like such legendary artists as Albert King, Little Milton, Bobby "Blue" Bland and others of their ilk, Blues Boy Willie blurs the lines between Blues and Southern R&B and he comes across as downright honest and full of conviction.
