Wolf and crew are putting the finishing touches on the studio-quality live recording from his 2010 sell out show at the Basement in Sydney. The Basement gig was the culmination of an Australian tour that saw the band play in numerous places around Australia.

"I didn't actually plan THE BASEMENT SESSION album" Wolf says "but was inspired by fantastic feedback from people about this concert. Many times I heard fans saying 'Your sound is so much more powerful live than in the studio'. So we put their request in action and decided to record the new album in front of a live audience," he says.

"We have taken a completely different approach on this recording" Wolf says. "The process is the same as it would have been if we would have done it in the studio in that it is a 24-track recording with an elaborate mixing process, but I think this has allowed the band to be more spontaneous and passionate".

This is also the first time that Wolf has included a second guitarist playing and singing in his project. “For years I have included a piano or sax player in the recording. I think that adding a second guitar gives the record a more earthy rock vibe. It also gave me a chance to record tracks from some of my favourite musicians, including Peter Green’s “Need your Love” and John Lee Hooker’s “It Serves Me right”. (
